Almond Joy Protein Smoothie

We’ve talked about it before, but I’ll admit it again: I’m a smoothie addict.  And, well, so are my kids.

What’s not to love?  They are quick and easy, you can hide all sorts of things in them, and if you’re doing it right, they are absolutely nutrient-packed.

Smoothies are a daily thing in our house.  Sometimes protein, sometimes green, sometimes made from whatever suits our fancy that minute.

This week I was craving something sweet.  I blame it on the baby bump, but it’s really just me.  I like sweets. 🙂  I indulged in some dark chocolate almond milk at the store but hadn’t really thought about what I was going to do with it.  Then I started craving a candy bar, and well…

Almond Joy Protein Smoothie

Okay, so maybe not the healthiest thing I’ve ever whipped up, but with 17g of protein and a ton of other nutrients, I’m still classifying it as healthy.  Maybe I should skip the dollop of whipped cream from now on though. 😉

Almond Joy Protein Smoothie

Ingredients:

8oz Almond Milk – I used Dark Chocolate
2 scoops of protein powder – I’ve made it with both chocolate and vanilla Shaklee 180 Smoothee Mix
2 tbsp shredded coconut
1/2 a frozen banana, sliced

Almond Joy Protein Smoothie

Blend it all together in a blender and enjoy!  I topped mine with a bit of whipped cream, more shredded coconut and some slivered almonds, but it’s perfectly delicious without the toppings, too!

That looks so good! I usually use the plain almond milk but I just picked up a carton of chocolate yesterday. I think I’ll try this smoothie for my afternoon snack. Thanks for sharing.

I’ve never tried almond milk, but you sure make it sound good in this! Thanks for bringing it to The Yuck Stops Here link party this week! You’ve been pinned and stumbled. Can’t wait to see what you bring to the party next week! HUGS

Yum! I crave Shaklee 180 every day! I can’t wait for my babe to be born so I can do the program again to lose weight — I absolutely loved it! I loved Almond Joy candy, so I am sure I would love this! I always felt a banana always made the consistency the best 🙂

I did it while I was nursing the twins and it helped my milk supply so much. Even preggo I’m doing a shake everyday as a snack to get the awesome nutrient boost. Shaklee 180 is NOT just for losing weight!

OK, take away the coconut and that looks and sounds so good! I had applied to be a part of Shaklee a few years ago but didn’t make the cut. Hope you are doing great on the program!

I’m not part of their blogger program, I’m an actual distributor. You don’t want my opinion on that program they did awhile ago. :/ I use 180 as a part of a healthy lifestyle and pregnancy, not trying to lose weight. 🙂

This looks good minus the coconut. I don’t like coconut but the hubby does so he would take it exactly the way the recipe is made.
