I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Doctor On Demand. I received a free trial coupon code to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation.
I’m a big fan of some things that are Old-World. One of my favorites is the House Call. I mean, when you’re sick, the last thing you want to go is put clothes on, deal with traffic (and if it’s cold out…ugh) and then sit in a waiting room with other sick people who might give you something else…and waiting, and waiting, and waiting…for a whole 10 minutes with a doctor and back out you go. And if it’s one of your kids that’s sick it’s all that…and then some.
After our baby was born in September, our hospital sent a nurse for a house visit so that I wouldn’t have to troop out with baby just a few days into my recovery. I was so thankful. But doctors just don’t do that anymore. (And our insurance left a not-so pretty chunk for me to pay out of those nurse home-visits.)
I was contemplating this all over again recently when my son developed a bit of a rash around his mouth. It’s one of those things that’s not a HUGE deal, but I knew I’d feel better if I had it looked at since we couldn’t seem to get it to go away with our usual methods. But our new pediatrician’s office is 40 minutes away. And with four other kids, including a nursling, I wasn’t looking forward to them tagging along, or having to get a sitter and make the choice of taking or leaving the baby. I can’t be the only mom out there missing the House Call at this point, right?
So have you met Doctor on Demand?
It’s a house call…on your laptop, tablet or smartphone. With a real, board-certified doctor (in your state). And it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg, or your first born.
- $40 for 15 minutes with Medical & Pediatrics
- $50 for 25 minutes with a Psychologist
- $40 for 25 minutes with a Lactation Consultant
This is like a new mom’s dream come true. It takes just a moment to get signed up and either hop on with a practitioner then or schedule an appointment for later. You’ll even get a text reminder when it’s time for your appointment.
Doctor on Demand is free to register (and the app is free to download) and you can use code DANI15 for your first session FREE with medical, pediatrics or a psychologist. You can enter this code when you register and use it immediately or store it in your account for use at a later time. Can you imagine how handy that would be if you’re traveling?!
I loved how simple it was to get registered and get our appointment set up. Not having the additional stress of getting myself and the tot dressed, out the door and on the road (and arrange for the four other kids and sitter) totally balanced out getting the little dude to sit still long enough for her to see his chin. I was able to snap a couple pictures with my phone and show them to her which worked out well. I was extremely thrilled that she made some holistic suggestions rather than jumping to write a script, but at least she had the ability to send in scripts (or even order lab work if necessary).
